This is a gentle easy route with nice views southwards to Ben Mhor and an interesting short section on the West Highland Way. Be careful of walkers as this is a very popular walking route.
With the exception of the 3 miles on the West Highland Way track all of this route is on tarmac. Suitable for Mountain bikes, Trail Bikes and with the exception of the WHW track, Road bikes. Family friendly, although great care should be taken on the busy A82.

- The route along the West Highland Way is interesting with various storyboards informing of natural history and history of the area.
- The route then goes through Auchtertyre farm and farm visits can be arranged.
- Crianlarich has a number of shops and cafes.
- Plenty of birdlife to see on this route.

Route Description
Go over footbridge and then turn left over the busy A82 to a signpost saying "Cattle Creep Path" which is the start of the West Highland Way track south from Tyndrum.
Follow track south to gate.(don't go down the Cattle Creep Path)
Go through gate, turn left down tarred road with Hostel on RHS. Turn right just before bridge.
Go through large gate which leads onto WHW track. Storyboards detailing areas of interest. Follow track which is narrow and rocky in places. Follow brown WHW way mark signs which are often difficult to spot.
Follow track under bridge over A82 and go up through Auchtertyre farm. Follow trail which is not well marked to graveyard for St Fillan's church.
At graveyard turn right and go through gate.
Turn right at WHW sign towards main road.
Follow road to main road A82
At this point there is an option to cross A82 at Ewich onto WHW track. This track carries on up and over Crianlarich. There is a very steep rocky and slippery track down to the village which is not recommended as it can be dangerous with a bike.
Best option is to follow the A82 to Crianlarich. Refreshments, shops and Hotels here.
Go through Crianlarich and head towards Stirling on the A85.
Turn left off A85 towards Auchlyne and follow this pleasant C road for 5.5 miles to Killin.
Turn left at the Smiddy into Killin and enjoy the shops, cafes, hotels.
By turning right you can enjoy one of Scotland's most iconic scenes, The Falls of Dochart on the western outskirts of the village. Picture.
